El Nido Farm, located at 1850 metres above sea level in the La Unión Municipality of Nariño, Colombia, is owned by Kenedy Lopez Ceron. Born into a traditional coffee-growing family, Kenedy has dedicated his life to producing exceptional coffee. His farm specialises in the Caturra variety, a natural mutation of Red Bourbon. Kenedy’s meticulous process includes strict ripeness criteria, floating, hand-sorting, and a 30-hour underwater fermentation before the beans are washed and dried in controlled conditions.
The rich volcanic ash soil, coupled with the region’s favourable climate, imparts unique characteristics to El Nido’s coffee. With temperatures ranging from 14 to 28°C and annual rainfall between 1500-1800 mm, the farm produces a coffee with a vibrant flavour profile. Notes of caramel, figs, cacao nibs, and lime are highlighted in each cup, reflecting Kenedy’s dedication to quality and his farm’s exceptional growing conditions.
