Introducing

James Kungu Kariuki | Wholesale

Located in the rolling hills of Kiambu County, just east of Gitwe, Bnivaans Estate is owned and operated by James Kungu Kariuki, affectionately known as "Bob"—a nickname that has stayed with him since his school days. James began producing coffee in 2011 after inheriting part of his family's land, initially selling his harvest under his uncle Francis's name before taking full ownership of the work in 2023. The estate
itself carries deep personal meaning, named in memory of Francis's son, whose legacy continues to inspire the care and dedication poured into every harvest.

Today, James cultivates Batian, Ruiru 11, and SL28 across 17 hectares of fertile volcanic soils in one of Kenya's most celebrated coffee-growing regions. Nestled between the Aberdare Range and the tea-growing highlands, the farm benefits from cool temperatures, reliable seasonal rainfall, and a thriving natural
ecosystem. Combined with James's meticulous attention to detail and unwavering commitment to quality, these ideal growing conditions produce a coffee that beautifully expresses the vibrant character and exceptional potential of its Kenyan origin.
