Coffee yields declined across many major producing regions in 2024, driven by climate instability, policy shifts, and labour shortages. According to market data, coffee prices rose by around 39% over the year — reflecting growing pressure on producers and supply chains worldwide.
At Modus, we continue to source selectively, looking for quality, clarity, and traceability in every lot we buy. Here’s where we’re sourcing from this season, and why.
Colombia
Harvest up +23%
Favourable weather supported a strong harvest in Huila.
We’ve continued sourcing washed lots from this region for their consistency and structure — especially in Tabi, Castillo, and Pink Bourbon lots.
Kenya
Output down -6%
Production dipped due to land access and policy shifts, but quality remained high.
We’re still focused on washed SL28 and Ruiru 11 lots for their precision and acidity — even as they become harder to source.
Nicaragua
Production down -10%
El Niño, labour shortages, and export disruptions impacted availability.
We’ve selected clean, washed Caturra and Catuai lots from producers working at elevation — where structure and clarity still shine.
